INTERNET DIRECT SELLS ACCESS ACCOUNTS TO
FOCUS ON INTERNATIONAL WEBHOSTING AND
CONSULTING
PHOENIX, Arizona (July 5, 1996) - Internet Direct, Inc. has completed its transition from
local Internet company to a major provider of business web sites internationally. The company
announced today that it has sold all of its Internet access accounts in Phoenix and Tucson to
Telesoft Corporation, a regional Internet service provider.
Commenting on the acquistion, Internet Direct President Michael March said, "We may be the first ISP in the country who has successfully moved from a local access provider to an international content provider." "This move allows us to focus our efforts on what we are uniquely equipped to do at this point, which is to develop web sites for businesses world-wide."
Internet Direct's GoSite Internet Server hosting system is one of the world's most popular, with more than 1,300 customers in 25 countries. Internet Direct earlier shifted resources toward the GoSite Server and consulting portions of its business, and stopped accepting new dial-up accounts in the Phoenix market in December, 1995.
"We know that our real strength lies in an ability to provide business solutions based on Internet technology. Now, we will be able to fully capitalize on those abilities," March said.
After access customers have been transitioned to Telesoft, March says that Internet Direct will focus on three areas. "We will continue to improve our GoSite Server system, expand our national marketing efforts, and become more aggressive in the content development and graphic design divisions."
Internet Direct began providing Internet access service in February, 1993, and was Arizona's first Internet company. The company is now a major provider of business Internet sites, based on its GoSite Internet Server system and a comprehensive graphic design and programming department. Internet Direct advertises in Internet and computer magazines, and competes against other national business Internet companies such as Netscape, Microsoft, UUNET, PSINet, and BBN Planet.
Telesoft Corp. (Nasdaq: TSFT, PSE: TSF) recently completed acquisitions of GoodNet, LLC and Netzone,
LLC and with the acquisition of Internet Direct's access accounts, is now one of Arizona's largest
Internet providers.
