I-SITE SERVERS PUT BUSINESS BACK ON TO INTERNET

I-Site Servers Provide Easy, Inexpensive Business Alternatives to Costly & Difficult Internet Servers

PHOENIX, Ariz., USA -- Internet Direct of Phoenix, Arizona today announced the International roll-out of the I-Site Internet Server. The I-Site Internet server offers a combination of typical hardware server functionality, such as SGI, DEC, and SUN servers currently offer, as well as the performance of Internet server software such as Netscape's Commerce Server, without additional connectivity expenses, at about 10% the traditional server cost.

World Wide Web servers - also known as WWW or WEB servers - provide content in the form of text, images, sound and video to companies and individuals with access to the Internet. Access is usually through a company connection, or via dial-up through an access provider such as CompuServe, America On-Line or the new Microsoft Network. The content is displayed and manipulated through software known as Web "browsers."

Unfortunately, while Web browsers for end-users have become very easy to manage, Web servers have been notoriously difficult and expensive for companies to set up and manage. Servers have been completely unavailable to individuals, consultants and smaller business enterprises. The I-Site Internet servers are removing these barriers.

"We are shattering the concept of a business Internet presence as difficult, expensive and time-consuming. We have proven that a business can create a presence on the Internet --as big as IBM or Sony-- without the extraordinary cost, technical expertise or time normally involved," says Michael March, President of Internet Direct.

Targeted at small and medium-sized businesses, the I-Site Internet server has already been successfully implemented in a broad range of businesses and industries. Internet Direct boasts customers from a small mail-order Brownie company, Fairytale Brownies (http://www.brownies.com), to large Multinationals such as PCS Health Systems (http://www.pcshs.com) which was recently purchased by the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly for over US$4 Billion.

"Part of the attraction of the I-Site server is the ability to fit any sized business," explains William Fisher, Business Manager for Internet Direct. "And, the I-Site concept means that business users and managers can begin to re-gain control of their company's role in electronic advertising, communications and marketing from UNIX-trained technicians."

Anyone with access to an on-line provider anywhere in the world can purchase and fully use the I-Site Internet server. Internationally, Internet Direct already supports I-Site customers in Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Britain, Columbia, Greece, Italy, Canada, Korea, the Netherlands and China.

Traditionally, businesses have only been able to obtain a business presence on the Internet via complex, dedicated Internet connectivity and expensive hardware. Aside from the dedicated telephone lines, routers, Internet access, computer hardware, server software and sheer cost and time to install an Internet server, considerable technical know-how is needed to ensure continuous uninterrupted server functionality and updated operations.

In contrast, the I-Site Internet server requires no extensive technical skills, each server can be set up in less than a day and every customer is supported by 365 day, 24-hour I-Support technicians. Each site is monitored 24-hours a day and each server is backed with a complete money-back guarantee, an unique Internet industry feature.

Every I-Site virtual Internet server includes a point-and-click style administrative interface called the EZ-Admintm which makes server management a breeze. Running as a simple Internet connectivity application on either the Windows or Macintosh system, the friendly EZ-Admin interface eliminates the usual pre-requisite of UNIX mastery for administering an Internet site.

The I-Site server remains the only truly complete, off-the-shelf Internet server package, making it extremely desirable to the corporate business community. For example, SUN computers offers an Internet "server" with the Netscape Communications virtual Web server for about US$12,000. The I-Site complete Internet server includes similar functionality and also includes the Internet connection and administration, which represents an additional $30,000 to $50,000 value per year!

Only the I-Site server includes the Electronic Post Office suite with fifty E-mail accounts. These features allow any business the opportunity to easily and cost-effectively enter the on-line world of electronic publishing and communications, to an audience of millions of on-line WWW users - without tens of thousands of dollars in equipment and expenses.

Individual I-Site Internet servers will be priced from US$149/mo. Internet Direct --Arizona's first commercial Internet provider, founded in February 1993-- will be demonstrating the I-Site Internet server at the upcoming Fall Internet World and COMDEX trade shows in the United States. Internet Direct has also been chosen as the vendor to supply the Internet feed for Motorola, Inc. during the Fall 95 Vegas COMDEX show.
